Biography

Sahil Mahendra Mangaonkar is a Research Engineering Scientist III in the Biomedical Technologies Division at the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute (UTARI). He develops embedded systems and control hardware for robotics and medical device research, focusing on PCB design, microcontroller programming, sensor integration, and pneumatic systems. His work supports research scientists and students in prototyping and testing rehabilitation and assistive technologies.

Sahil received his Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024 and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 2022. Before joining UTARI in June 2025, he worked with both the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering and the GRASP Lab at Penn—supporting labs and courses while contributing to MedTech research involving embedded hardware, firmware development, and system integration. He also brings industry experience from internships at multiple companies, where he led hardware and firmware development and validation for early-stage consumer electronics prototypes.
