Biography
Lisa Powers Miller has comprehensive experience in business development, marketing and communication, economic development, and public affairs. Prior to working at UTARI, she served as the Business Development Manager for a leading marketing and communications agency. Lisa, also, served as President of Camp Bowie District where she oversaw public-improvements and advocacy for more than 800 local businesses and 500 property owners of a 9-mile commercial corridor in Fort Worth. Prior to that, Lisa was a legislative consultant for the City of Arlington and a Public Affairs Coordinator for Chesapeake Energy. As a student at the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her BA in English, she began what would be a nine-year career at the Texas Legislature, beginning as an intern for State Representative John Culberson. She went on to serve as Chief Committee Clerk for the House Committee on Energy Resources and Chief of Staff for State Representative Buddy West. Lisa was recognized by the Fort Worth Business Press as a “40 Under 40” recipient. She a is a graduate of Leadership Fort Worth and serves on the Board of Directors Arts Fort Worth, formerly known as the Arts Council of Fort Worth.
