Dr. Muthu Wijesundara, Principal Research Scientist and Head of the Biomedical Technologies Division was inducted into the NAI as a senior member on June 14, 2022, at the Academy’s annual meeting in Phoenix. Welcome remarks were delivered by UTA’s new President, Dr. Jennifer Cowley, and the awards presentation was delivered by Paul Rosenthal with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The NAI was founded in 2010 to recognize and encourage inventors with patents issued from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, enhance the visibility of academic technology and innovation, encourage the disclosure of intellectual property, educate and mentor innovative students, and translate the inventions of its members to benefit society.
